Violent confiscation of property: one of the original sins of communism
Violent confiscation of individuals’ private property is one of the original sins of communism, a heavy moral burden we still carry on our shoulders – noted Ágnes Hankiss MEP (EPP) at the meeting of the Petition Committee yesterday. In her speech she gave an emblematic example of the case of the former socialist Hungarian prime minister, Ferenc Gyurcsány, who still lives in a villa confiscated illegally from its original, Jewish owners by the Nazis and later by the communists.
